New: Essential Oil Diffuser Package

New: Essential Oil Diffuser Package

Your can never anticipate the circuitous paths that take you where you are going!

I first met Debra Manfree at one of our Open Houses here at the ranch. I remember the incident (and it was an incident!).

Each Open House we do a number of tours in which we explain how we apply biodynamic practices in our farming. Earlier I had walked the goats to the Open House site and locked them in a fenced area where people could visit them but the goats were also secure away from the grapevines.

We had just begun the tour when Agaleah, the queen goat, joined us! She had broken through the fence and wanted to be with the group. Of course she evaded capture, and as I called for help, all the other goats joined us as well. People photographed the commotion. It was the highlight of the tour!

Debra was one of those people on the tour, she reminded me when I visited her recently at the Napa Valley College ceramic studio. This time I had found her through Rancho Gordo, the primo bean outlet in Napa which supports heritage organic bean farmers in Mexico. Cristin McDonnell was with me the day we saw beautiful terra cotta bean pots. When we found out the pots were made by a local woman, Cristin suggested we ask her to make diffusers for us.

Debra turns out to be a potter extraordinaire!  As I  sat in the ceramic studio with her, she made a prototype of a diffuser, the form morphing with my suggestions.  And within a week, Debra brought a box of the diffusers, which we are offering in a Christmas gift combo, on sale for $25 until December 17, then $29.

Please consider attending the studio show at the college this coming week to see more of Debra’s work. And order one of her diffusers in stoneware as a locally sourced, beautiful gift that will delight many on your list!
