Acres: Article on Biodynamic Farming
This month Acres magazine published an article about our entry into biodynamic farming. Along with the story of why we began farming in this way, we offer suggestions about how to start gardening or farming this way yourselves.
One of my greatest pleasures is to know that when I walk through the vines or the lavender with my grandsons, that I am not subjecting them to dangerous chemicals (and know this: the research on Roundup places it as one of those chemicals that is a probable cause of cancer). In fact, a vineyard worker grafted a Thompson seedless vine onto the rootstock in the middle of the Chardonnay block, and each year our grandsons have a great time at harvest finding this vine. The article features a picture of grandson Wesley sampling these delicious grapes!
