We named this lavender field after our first queen goat Natalie. Natalie was a tiny pygmy goat, very attached to me but reticent about meeting anyone she did not know. She kept order, giving a good butt if another goat (like Boris!) was out of line. She also was the mother of four kids, including Sophia. We still miss her!

The field itself is right outside our bedroom window. It is the lavender with which we have the most daily contact as we walk through it on our way to the studio and goat barn. This intimacy is part of the essence of field Natalie’s lavender― and essential oil and hydrosol.
