Preparing for the New Cuttings

August allows the leisure to do projects that we do not have time for other times of the year. Some call this time of the year of summer dormancy in California (Mediterranean climate)  the fifth season. The grapes are ripening; the lavender, harvested. It is quiet; the hills, golden.
One of our projects this season is to prepare for the fall planting of 500 lavender cuttings. This involves pulling the old plants. They will be dried and composted.
