Tomatilla in late afternoon. |
Biodynamics is one of the few disciplines that addresses the forces behind what we “see.” It requires more quiet to feel these forces, another consciousness even, balanced with reason. What is it about light that opens these portals? The late afternoon sun shining through the tomatilla skin reminds me this earth is paradise.
The seams of the day, Morning and Evening, are like tomatilla skin, thin and luminescent. This morning we spray 501, silica, to bring the forces of light to dry the last of the grapes to be harvested tomorrow morning. The weekend rains cool the earth and threaten mildew and bunch rot. Saturday evening we also sprayed fermented equisetum tea, a vegetable source of silica.
