Grapes are softening. Still tart, though! |
Grapes Ripening Already!
I woke this week to the familiar hum of the sulfur dusters in our neighbors’ vineyards, a sound that soon will be stopping for the season. We dusted for the last time this last week. Once the grapes go into veraision (making sugar), they are less susceptible to mildew and we no longer dust. However, we do continue to spray the fermented equisetum tea, upping its use to every 9 days.
Last night we saw picking lights in the Carneros as we were driving home from Petaluma. First sighting of such of the season!
